Drags. KiwiSpan
1/8-mile Street Drags by Wanganui Road Rodders. This
event attracts large fields of competition cars, hot
rods, street machines, muscle cars, imports, and a great
variety of bikes. Feature battles include the popular V8
vs Import, Holden vs Ford and fastest club car for the
Ivan Jones Memorial Trophy. Drivers of street entries
need current Rego/WOF/License as well as compliant
helmet, neck-brace, full clothing and closed footwear.
Scrutineering will start 6:00am and finish 9:30am
(scrutineering for local entries closes at 8:00am).
Racing will start 10:00am with an expected finish around
3:00pm. Spectators will enjoy close viewing at trackside
and have the option of grandstand seating. The usual
rates for spectator admission still apply at $25 family
concession, $10 single, under-13 $5 and under 5s are
free. No dogs, glass, patches or attitude. Pre-entry only

20-21 Coromandel Crooze
hosted by Riverside Rodders. Run departs Kopu Tavern on
Saturday morning and the route will tour the Coromandel
Peninsula. It’s a pre 49 event limited to 50 cars. Cost is
$75 per adult with all meals provided plus entertainment,
Wild Food Festival and a train trip through the bush. All
vehicles must be certified, hold a current WOF and drivers
must be financial members of NZHRA. Main venue is the

22 It’s not long to
go now before Barry Meguiar, CEO of Meguiar’s and
presenter of Car Crazy TV, touches down in New Zealand to
film two special episodes of Car Crazy. He’ll be here
from 22-27 February 2010, where he’ll be at the fantastic
Americarna with his full Car Crazy film crew! For those
Aucklanders who can’t make it to Americarna we’ve
organized a special three hour Car Crazy Show & Shine
on 22 February 2010 between 6-9pm, where for one night
only, he’ll be filming in Auckland before heading down to
New Plymouth with the full Car Crazy team to film at
Americarna. The Car Crazy Central Show & Shine will
be held at Smits Group’s Head Office on Greenmount Drive,
East Tamaki. Aside from the fantastic opportunity to swap
car stories with The Ultimate Car Guy, there’ll also be a
barbeque, demos and spot prizes on the night. We’d love
to see you here with your cars but be quick because there
are only enough parking spaces for 120 cars at this
stage, so please register with us as soon as possible. If

7 Mother’s Bayswater Auto Show.
Bayswater School is having a fundraising event at the
Bayswater school grounds (Bayswater Ave). This is a major
fundraiser for the school and they’ve secured the
following car clubs attendances: Cobra, American Muscle
Car Club, Stags, Fraser, Harley Davidson, Jaguar Club, in
addition to various Ferraris and other cars and hopefully
Lamborghini's from Giltrap Prestige. Plus there are
various military vehicles, a live band, children's
entertainment and food. There will be security at
the show. Sponsored categories for cars in the show
including a 'Best in Show' award, sponsored by Mothers.
There will be packs prepared for drivers bringing their
cars and a lounge for their use during the event.

Parts Ultimate Rides Hot Rod Show. Craig Stare has just been
given the go-ahead for the second running of the American
Auto Parts Ultimate Rides Hot Rod Show which is scheduled
for Rolleston on March 19th-21st. These shows are a must-see
for all hot rodders with all new cars and the icing on the
cake for south island hot rodders’ summer. A special
function on Friday 19th will see the launch of the new
Muscle Car Madness book by Craig Stare. Details will be out
soon so stay tuned. Incidentally Rolleston is the departing
point for the Americarna Cruise on the following Tuesday

Run. Starting in Auckland, the
run goes from Auckland to the Bay of Islands on sealed roads
with an approximate total distance of
360km.
The entry fee is $50 per
person over 18 years of age. This includes one poker hand
and GST. Children under 18 years of age are free but do not
receive a poker hand. Every vehicle registered in the event
receives one entry in the Family Quiz.
The event is open to all
vehicles, including motorcycles, with current
registration and warrant of fitness. All vehicles must be
insured. Entries are now open so e-mail your name, postal address, a contact
telephone number and brief details of your vehicle to us.

Blower Bash # 2. Kicker car
audio are at it again and the aim is to have 26 cars
making it the largest gathering of supercharged street
cars in NZ. All will assemble in one
place, at one time and will run together at Beach Hop 10.

largest gathering of supercharged street cars in
Australasia” says Tony from Kicker car audio. If you have

2010 Street Rod Nationals Blenheim. Show ‘n Shine public car
display Sunday 4th April. 100's of cars plus various
vendor stalls. Entries are now available. Entry forms have
been sent out to all hot rod clubs listed in NZ plus they
are also available on our club website, www.sunvalleyroadsters.co.nz . Just click on the tab saying Nationals Entry
Form, print it off and send it. Entries are selling fast, so
if you’re thinking about coming, please get your entries in

49's. Pull your finger out! Entries are coming in thick and
fast so get in quick as we are getting closer to our
250 person cutoff point for the 2010 Pre 49's, or

have a great old fashioned weekend of rodding fun planned
for you, based at our Waterloo Road Clubrooms with a tinge
of our 1977 Street rod Nats nostalgia thrown in for
good measure. Registration and evening Run Thursday. Friday
sees a Rod Run, sightseeing with the odd game thrown in
to keep you on your toes. A laid back evening and
entertainment with a twist follows. Saturday is Show and
Shine day. While the cars are on show you'll split into two
groups to take a cruise on the historic steam tug
'Lyttelton' and make a visit to a facility seldom open to
the public, then vice versa followed by a great meal and
