29 The Pegasus Bay Drag Racing Club
will be hosting the Southern Nationals at Powerbuilt
Dragway, Ruapuna as round two of the track National Series.
NZ’s quickest and fastest dragster, the Marsh
Motorsport/Mount shop entry is entered as is the nation’s
second quickest dragster, the Vernon & Vazey/Harcourts
Hauler. Both will be aiming to smash the existing track and
South Island records. In addition, a near full field is
expected in supercharged outlaws, and the popular bike
classes, supported by Scrap Palace will return to Ruapuna.
It’s also the same weekend as the 22nd Muscle Car Madness in
Rangiora. We’ll have cars on display there on the Saturday
to encourage the public to come to the drags on Sunday. So
do MCM on Saturday, and the Southern Nationals on Sunday.
Come to Canterbury for the weekend of your life (and go home
exhausted). Gate entry for the day is $20.

Following an American Graffiti theme this year. , Noddy Watts purchased the 57 in the USA and then had Chris & Diane Prince from Kiwi Restoration & Fabrication (Reno, Nevada) deal to it. They did a fantastic job before handing it over to the McCain family owned Spray Craft for the black paint work. The coupe was purchased in Utah and then handed over to Duane Jones of Kiwi Konnection (www.kiwikonnection.com ) and the California Roadster Company (http://www.californiaroadstercompany.com/). Duane sorted out a new chassis and supplied all the components to finish this cool Hot Rod - top stuff! Famous Pacific Shipping transported the cars from Los Angeles to Auckland.
