15 Zone 2 Rodders Memorial Run.
15 NZHRA. Zone 2 Memorial Run. NZHRA Zone 2 clubs; Mid
West, Harbour City and the Oogah Rodders have been finalising
the framework for the inaugural memorial run to recognise those
past NZHRA Auckland club members who are no longer with us.
We’re aware there are several runs currently held for different
people, and our aim is to unite all memorial runs so all can be
remembered at the one time. We’d like to invite NZHRA club
members, together with families and friends of those members
who have passed on to attend the first run which departs from
Alexandra Park at 11.30am. The run travels a scenic route
through West Auckland. A brief presentation will be held, where
the names of our deceased friends will be read out as one, and
a minutes silence will be observed in their honour. There will
be a gold coin donation at the end of the run, with all
proceeds going to this year’s charity; The Cancer Society.

annual fun run to raise funds for the Royal NZ Foundation of
the Blind, "Guide Dogs" appeal. The mystery run, with some
games, starts at Newlands shops at 1.30pm. All vehicles

24-26 The Kaikoura Rod Run. Major changes this year will
be; Friday night BYO BBQ at the White Morph. Change of display
Sat morning to the car park in the main street. Catered meal at
Stu Windles on Saturday night. Breakfast at Robbies who are

the White Morph until the end of July so if you want to stay
there just tell the management that you are with the hot rod

pre 1963 American cars & hot rods, pre 1966 British &
American motorcycles modified in a 1950s or 1960s manner...no
digital dash or billet. Gates open at 7am for entrants so
display vehicles can be set up before venue opens to the public
at 9am. Entry is by a gold coin per head with plenty of
preferential parking for any custom, classic or hot rod which
does not come under the criteria set out above. New on site is
"The Little Clydesdale" a fully licensed cafe and bar. The
Rumble is held on the same day as the huge Pirongia Craft Day,
horse and wagon rides available from the Rumble venue to and

21 Stragglers Cambridge Charity Show at the Lake Te Koutu
Domain, Cambridge. The format which has worked so well for the

23-26 Americarna – Hutt City. The team has been in the
Hutt putting the finishing touches to the event plan. It’s all
go with Southwards confirming the venue. A luncheon, USA-style
will be available at a cost however it will be value for money.
A limited number of entrants will have access to the
restoration workshops. They expect this to fill quickly. The
Saturday function is looking like the best ever from the four
North Island events. After meeting the Masterton group planning
our visit there on the 25th February they’re confident
Masterton will turn it on. They are all very enthusiastic and
with Lloyd Wilson keeping an eye on the planning on their
behalf they know it’ll be great. The number of registrations
received for the Hutt event is very pleasing with cars coming
from all over NZ. They’ve no doubt the limit of 600 cars will

event Co-ordinator Ronda Ridsdale is doing a great job getting
around everyone. The team were down there a few weeks ago and
were thrilled all their sponsors are back on board and interest
in the event is also strong. Ronda is working on a few things
to ensure the event is again enjoyable. They’ve changed the
Thursday route to ensure they involve more schools. Storage has
been arranged in Wellington for those who wish to leave their
cars there after the Hutt event and return for the road trip

Car, Truck & Engine Up For Grabs at BH11: Thanks to Sony
Xplod, Ford NZ, Famous Pacific Shipping and Radio Hauraki we

1962 Ford Thunderbird, 1952 Ford F1 pickup truck and Ford
Flathead V8 Hot Rod engine! You can check them all out on our

T-Bird will be basically left as it is apart from a Sony Xplod
sound system fitted by Rapid Radio. The pickup is currently
with Geno and team at Taupo Panel & Paint for a complete
make-over using Spies Hecker and House of Kolor products
supplied by the Smits Group. Cragar wheels will be added and
some upholstery work by Mead Auto Trimmers in Matamata. Ron
from Custom Auto Glass is supplying new tinted windows while
Mark Stokes of M.S Vehicle Certification will ensure that it
complies to NZ standards. And finally Rapid Radio will be
installing the Sony Xlpod sound system. The person drawn from
the Programme draw on Saturday 26th March will be able to
choose between the T-Bird and pickup – whichever they don’t
choose will be auctioned with a $15,000 reserve. The Ford
flathead engine has alloy Offenhauser heads and twin carb
intake, new carbs and water pumps etc. The engine will be given
away to a BH11 vehicle entrant on Sunday 27th March at approx

Join Street Machines Southland at the 2011 event, which is
limited to 500 entries. The Century Yuasa & NZRHA
partnership endeavours to lift the bar with each subsequent

cruise through to Fiordland, a show and shine and three evening
functions including a Vegas Cabaret night and a Wild Foods

drive to Cardrona Valley, bus to snow farm/proving grounds
tour, lunch, prizegiving, dinner and entertainment at Lake

Accommodation and main venue is the Oakridge Grand Mercure
Resort, Cardrona Valley Road, Wanaka. They’ve negotiated a
special discount for accommodation for entrants at Oakridge. To
obtain a reservation you are required to send in your entry
form with at least 50% deposit. On receipt of entry you will be
provided with a entrant number to use to book your
accommodation and receive the discount at this venue. Any other
accommodation is up to the participants. There are several
motels and holiday camps in Wanaka, and as it is a small town
everything is reasonably close. Conditions of entry: All
vehicles must be Pre 49 Street rods of American origin and meet
the following criteria. All vehicles must be registered for the
event by a currently affiliated NZHRA member (and can provide
proof). All vehicles must comply with NZHRA and Land Transport
regulations in place at time of event. Certification plates
will be checked at registration. All vehicles must have been
through certification process prior to the event and provide
the correct plate on the entry form (or be stock and display a
stock sticker). Vehicles certified after submitting entry forms
will be required to provide proof of certification. Vehicles
must be of tidy appearance. Organisers reserve the right to
evict any vehicle from the event if it contravenes the
regulations despite displaying cert plate/ WOF/rego. The
organisers reserve the right to evict any participants
considered to be acting in objectionable or unsafe manner. No
refund will be payable. No pets. Entries close 31 January 2011.
