Default Nick Hays Funeral

Hey everyone, here is the plan for Nick's send off (as I understand it to be) please everyone make the effort to be there as Nick was always there for us :-) And don't forget to wash the mud off and polish the chrome for lots of good photos, just as Nick would have taken :-)

8am - 9....30 open casket viewing at Canterbury Christian Funeral Service 24 Sheffield Crescent (Final chance to see Nick as casket will remain closed after this)
Approx 9.30 Leave Funeral home for Nick's last cruise, heading to Ruapuna Drag Strip for one last quarter mile. We will be leaving here in time to make it to Crematorium by 11.15 sharp
11.30 Service at Harewood Crematorium, please in lieu of flowers a donation towards the cost of funeral would be wonderful.

The cruz details for Nick, we will be at the ruapuna drag track entry from 9:30 am where we would ask all cars to park in the pit area as only Nick will be allowed on the track. We can form a guard of honour for Nick by standing in line from the start line. Nick will travel down the track and then around the old return road while everyone should make their way back to thier cars to follow Nick to the crem. We hopefuly have police assistance at the main road intresections. If possible tell as many people as you can lets make this the best cruz that Nick has ever been on. My name is Barry Appleton and you can call me for any further information on 027-2326240
At completion of service a reception will be held at Papanui Club (310 Sawyers Arms Road)
Hope to see you there to celebrate the life of a truly special man
R.I.P Nick
Please everyone, if you know someone that knew Nick please pass these details on as his last cruise wasn't advertised in the paper so anyone not on facebook may not know about it. Please get the word out, check your phone, and send a text out so everyone knows where to be. Thanks

Default I'd known Nick for 15+ years...

Used to buy parts off him out at Spencerville, what a great yard he had there. Have many Hq parts from him on my car. Shame he got into Commodores haha We only contacted each other occasionally lately due to his busy lifestyle,
I only found out today he had passed. I feel terrible that I missed his sendoff.
Does anyone know where his ashes are (if they are in the ground yet) or of any place I can say my goodbyes?
